"The fact that artists are now minted by universities (and degree-granting art schools modeled on the university) may have done wonders for their social standing, but it’s also been a source of worry to many critics and artists, who think something of great value might be lost by the proffessionalization of the artist." -

HOLISTIC SCENOGRAPHIC MURALS  &  ARCHITECTURAL  METAMORPHOSIS

ART COLLECTORS HAVE COMMONLY FOUND IN HER WORKS A REMINISCENCE IN STYE, WITH THE PAINTINGS OF HOKUSAI, FOR OFTEN BEING REFERRED TO HIS WAVES - WITH THE LINES OF ZAHA HADID FOR BOTH BEEING DRIVEN BY THE SHAPES OF DUNES, REMINISCENT OF SWAY'S LARGE SCALE OCEAN'SKIES - WITH ROBERTO MATTA FOR HER «SOULSCAPES» VERSUS HIS «INSCAPES» - AND AT LAST, WITH FRIDA KAHLO FOR A SIMILAR DESTINY, AND PROCESSES OF HOLISTIC VISUALISATION.

S W A Y®

Is a London based Scottish abstract-expressionist, who's eye has been shaped by the colors of the mediterranean since early childhood, Her mixed media "swayscapes" and holistic street-art, short films, poetry, cuttings over diluted inks painted over depleted photographs & drawings found in her large scale almost aboriginal works, have set into motion her ethereal canvases and murals in various European villas, chapels & castles,. it's volume in evolution scaffolds what is yet to come .-

SWAY also known as "Jeanne" or Janine Ricketts, was born in Paris in the 70's into a transcultural lineage of interdisciplinary artists and musicians, of which one of her great Grandfathers, Frederick-William II, known as musician and patron of the Arts, commissioned the Brandenburg Gate as a symbol of peace. -

SWAY was awarded in Paris for "Arts and World Culture" at UNESCO in September 2015 via her premonitory holistic portraits on the Arab Spring and speech on "genocide, art and peace" at the occasion of the centenary of the Armenian genocide. -

In September 2016 SWAY presented a holistic family portrait entitled “our eldest brother Iraq & sister Syria” at United Nations in Geneva.

in the year 2000 SWAY was commissioned by the French government to create her first chapel mural built in 1646 in La doire de séranon, entitled, "Heavenly kingdom, earthly kingdom" a 5 x 7,70m fresco painted in multiple layers of shades of colors, revealing the illusion of an earthly heaven, which took her six months of hermitage to complete. -

This chapel then triggered the next commissioned chapel work in 2002, "Venite ad Me" a 3x5m mixed media mural for Monaco's Carmelite chapel .

Ever since, she regularly 'swayed' from her various ephemeral art studios, to her uncle's estate in Germany, who invited her with his wife to paint in one of their towers in Jettingen’s Castle, birth place and home of Claus Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg. - anchoring SWAY’s call in painting salvational and conscious awakening themes.

SWAY explores the limitless power of soul in the core of her body of works. She performs live worldwide on commission, mainly for holistic, transcultural and humanitarian purposes in partnership with international art patrons.-

E D U C A T I O N

SWAY graduated in arts & fashion In 1994 from the hkw school in baden-wurttemberg, germany. in the same year she traveled between the cote d'azur and rhodos to collaborate with architects and artists, as well as studying byzantine iconography under eva vlavianos, which marks her main influence in her style today.

She graduated in '97 with awards from the Institut Guégan (Brittany, F) in decorative arts, murals and scenography,

In the late 9O's SWAY mingled with RAZZIA, the official LVMH poster artist, and painted privately on a regular basis at "Castel Caramel" in the south of france with surrealist master ERNST FUCHS who at times worked with DALI and HUNDERTWASSER.
